Company Closing
How to Close a Company in RAKEZ Free Zone
Company closing in RAKEZ follows a formal, step-by-step process regulated by the Free Zone Authority. As a Registered Agent, Aurion initiates and manages the entire closure procedure on your behalf.
Submit the Closing Application
Aurion submits the company closing application form to RAKEZ Authority on behalf of the investor, along with a notarized declaration letter stating the reason for closure.
Notarize the Closure Letter
The owner must sign and notarize the closure letter. If based outside the UAE, the letter can be notarized at the nearest UAE Embassy and the original submitted to RAKEZ.
Board Resolution for Multiple Shareholders
Companies with multiple shareholders, or subsidiaries of a holding company, must submit a notarized Corporate Board Resolution signed by all shareholders with full details included.
Clear All Dues and Cancel Employee Visas
The General Manager formally resigns, all outstanding dues with creditors, banks, and government bodies are settled, and all active employee visas are cancelled with monthly dues cleared.
Obtain Departmental Clearance Certificates
Clearance certificates must be collected from RAK Customs (warehouse and land holders), Chamber of Commerce, Environment Protection Department (industrial license holders), telecoms providers, and FEWA.
Final Document Submission and Payment
All required documents and the completed closing application are submitted to RAKEZ Authority. The company closing fee is paid to formally initiate the liquidation process.
Upon approval, RAKEZ issues the Company Closing Letter — your company is legally liquidated and may no longer conduct any trade or business operations in the UAE.
