Once you hold a UAE residence visa and meet the minimum salary requirement, you can sponsor your spouse, children and parents to join you. Opening a company — in a Free Zone or on the Mainland — also gives you an Investor Visa and your own quota to sponsor employee visas. All shareholders, directors, managers and employees of a UAE-registered company are eligible for a UAE residence visa. Aurion helps you get the paperwork right the first time, avoiding delays and rejections.
The 6-Month Rule for UAE Residence Visa Holders
The General Rule
- Residence visa holders who stay outside the UAE for more than six months continuously have their visa automatically nullified.
- A new entry permit is required to re-enter the UAE once this happens.
- Golden Visa holders are not bound by this six-month rule and may stay outside the UAE for longer periods.
Who's Exempt From the 6-Month Rule
- Domestic helpers accompanying their sponsor's family abroad for studies or medical treatment
- Government employees sent abroad for treatment, with reports approved by UAE health authorities
- Public sector employees sent abroad for training, specialist courses, or posted to an employer's overseas office — along with their visa-holding families
- Foreign wives of UAE nationals, sponsored by their husbands
- Students studying at universities or institutes abroad, per each emirate's GDRFA rules
- Domestic helpers and employees accompanying diplomats or consular mission members representing the UAE abroad

Avoid Delays
Common Reasons Visa Applications Get Rejected
The UAE visa process is quick when done right. Most rejections come down to a handful of avoidable mistakes.
Uncancelled Previous Visa
Held a UAE visa before and left without cancelling it — immigration clearance from a PRO agent is needed before a new application can be approved.
Handwritten Passports
Passports that are handwritten rather than machine-printed are automatically rejected by UAE immigration.
Prior Offences in the UAE
Applicants with a previous criminal record, fraud, or misconduct case in the UAE will see their application rejected.
No-Show on a Prior Tourist Visa
Previously issued a tourist visa but never entered the country — this history can block future applications.
No-Show on a Prior Employment Visa
An employer previously applied for an employment visa on your behalf, but you never entered the UAE to activate it.
Typos and Misspellings
Errors in your name, passport number, or profession code cause delays or outright rejection — every detail must match your passport exactly.
Unclear or Unreadable Copies
Blurry passport scans or unclear photos are a common, easily avoidable reason for rejection or delay.

The Golden Visa — 10 Years of UAE Residence, No Sponsor Required
A General Trading License in the UAE typically demands large capital reserves and high annual fees. IFZA removes both barriers — no capital proof required, GTL fees start at just AED 10,000. Add multiple commodities across sectors under a single license.
Visa questions,answeredclearly.
Everything you need to know before applying for a UAE visa.
What documents are required for a Visit or Tourist Visa in the UAE?
A Visit or Tourist Visa needs only a colour copy of your passport and a passport-size photo with a white background — one of the simplest visa categories to apply for.
What documents do I need to sponsor my spouse and children in the UAE?
You'll need passport copies and photos of each dependent, your original passport and Emirates ID, an attested marriage certificate (for a spouse), an attested birth certificate (for children), your Ejari certificate and electricity bill, and six months of bank statements. You must also meet the minimum salary requirement to sponsor dependents.
What documents are required for a Maid or domestic helper visa?
You'll need passport copies and photos, your original passport and Emirates ID (and your spouse's), an attested marriage certificate, a signed labor contract, a tenancy contract for a minimum two-bedroom home, and your electricity and water bill.
Does the six-month rule apply to Golden Visa holders?
No. Standard residence visa holders lose their visa if they stay outside the UAE for more than six months continuously, but Golden Visa holders are exempt from this rule and can stay abroad for longer periods without affecting their residence status.
Can I sponsor my parents on a UAE residence visa?
Yes. The Family or Sponsor Visa allows residence visa holders who meet the minimum salary requirement to sponsor their spouse, children, and in eligible cases, their parents.
What's the fastest way to avoid a visa application rejection?
Most rejections come from avoidable mistakes — typos, unclear document copies, or an uncancelled previous visa. Working with a visa services expert like Aurion ensures every document and detail is checked before submission, dramatically reducing the risk of delay or rejection.
